Saving energy in schools and colleges
Helping children and young people understand about the importance of energy efficiency and sustainability, and the dangers of climate change, is an important tool.
Severn Wye works with a number of primary schools, secondary schools and further education institutions to develop indvidual lesson plans through to whole-school approaches to tackling the issues.
Whether simple classes showing how solar panels work, through to setting up behavioural change teams to save schools money, a few recent examples of these types of projects are below.
Through a series of interactive events which bring about engagement between a wide range of professionals and young people, Your Green Future (YGF) aims to inspire 14 to 19-year-olds with the range of jobs, skills and qualifications available in the green economy.
Teach TW0 is an energy-saving project that will be implemented in 50 schools across Europe. It will engage with around 150 teachers and more than 2,500 students in four European countries – Italy, Greece, Latvia and the UK.
