'Fuel for Words' and 'Fuel for Numbers'

Raising energy efficiency awareness through core skills adult education

Published by the Severn Wye Energy Agency and funded by the Eaga Charitable Trust, these two manuals are designed to raise the awareness of home energy efficiency and practical ways to achieve affordable warmth. They have been written by energy efficiency experts working in partnership with core skill tutors.

Each around 100 pages long, the manuals are divided into clear sections, each one with activities and photocopiable worksheets. There are notes for the tutors which give background information and guidance to the study levels to which each piece of work is appropriate.

A wide range of topics are covered, such as keeping the heat in the home, how much pollution is caused by using inefficient appliances, recording your electricity and gas consumption, and how to keep warm and healthy.
