General Project Information

Action for Affordable Warmth

General Project Information:

The project in Gloucestershire has been piloted in 12 primary schools during the academic year 2005/6. It aimed to provide teachers with training, materials and methods to integrate the energy topic into their existing curricula and ensure that they could become self sufficient in this practice in the future. Classroom activities were aimed at the upper end of Key Stage 2 with the idea that pupils could learn about energy issues using their own school buildings as the case study. These energy smart pupils would then act as ambassadors for change in their school communities promoting efficiency and sustainability in their school and homes.
