Hello, my name is Aimee Williams; I am fifteen years old and from Severn Vale School. Severn Vale is a mixed comprehensive school situated in Quedgeley, Gloucestershire. It houses students from years seven to eleven, of all abilities and has been awarded a Bronze Eco Status to join with its known status of a technology college.
When I heard about the Y.E.P! Project and that I had the opportunity to be involved, I just knew I had to be! This was not because I am an eco-freak or whatever the common misconception is, because in fact I see my-self far from this, it was just that I knew it would be a fantastic opportunity for me in many ways.

A part of the school we had never seen before survey day! |
So, I filled in my application and went along for an interview. The outcome was, I was cast as the Senior Project Manager of the team. Since then I have worked along side the rest of my team to improve our school. I have taken part in the survey day, preparation and presentation of survey day results to Rednock School and the eco quiz.
The team and I have thoroughly all enjoyed these events, especially the survey day. The survey day consisted of everyone being mixed around and given a roll, we then all took part in trying to find out more about our school and its eco-friendly status. Along the way we as a team have made many wonderful changes based on our survey day results. We have done so by attending regular progress meetings, making presentations to staff and Senior Management Team and by holding assemblies. We now all feel as a team we have created a sustainable network in which even when we are gone, our work can be carried on.

Sevarn Vale doing well at the Y.E.P! inter-school quiz |
After getting involved in Y.E.P! I can honestly say I have no regrets. I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience and these are just a few of the things I have gained from it:
Miss McKinley - Geography and 10v tutor
"I would say that Y.E.P! has been an excellent opportunity for my students to get involved in. The support from SWEA, especially
Victoria has been excellent in planning and providing me with the resources and support that is needed. The benefits from the project
will have a big impact on the school in terms of more positive behaviour towards using energy and hopefully saving money."
