Background

Come On Labels is a 30 month project with 13 partner countries, supported by Intelligent Energy Europe, which focuses on raising awareness of the new EU energy label for domestic appliances.

Aims

The Come On Labels project aims to support the implementation of the new EU household appliance energy labelling scheme, by enhancing the visibility and credibility given to the label and improving the market for labelled products.

The project will review the approach to implementation in the 13 partner countries and collect and disseminates good practice, focusing on the three key areas fundamental to successful implementation of labelling:

Activities

The project runs from December 2010 through to May 2013. There are five key areas of work that each partner country will be involved in delivering:

  1. Review of national legislation for new appliance labelling
  2. Review of appliance testing in each country
  3. Review of retailer compliance
  4. Promotion of the new energy labels
  5. A review of good practice 'early replacement' initiatives and promotion for similar schemes to be adopted in each country

We also offer free, in-depth staff training sessions. However, this offer is only available for a limited period and is aimed primarily at retail outlets wishing to train their sales team to use energy labels as a powerful sales tool to promote energy efficient appliances.
